Little Joe's mother

Hi. I am fairly new to Bonanza Boomers and this is my first time on this forum. I hope I am posting this question in the right place.

I am working on a fan fiction and trying to figure out how old Joe was when his mother Marie died? The show seems to indicate it might have been only a few days, while the online lists, episode pages, etc. say he was under 5.
