.The episodes opens with Will Geer and Robert Pine, who play father and son - Calvin and Steed Butler, watching as one of their henchmen burns down a home.
Cut to the Ponderosa Ranch and Candy is asking Ben for some time off, seems an old friend - an old female friend - is in trouble and needs his help.

Joe volunteers to go with him and the two head off to Butlerville. On their way, they run into an older couple with a broken down wagon, ever the two gentlemen, Candy and Joe help fix their wagon.
