ADAM CARTWRIGHT SHADOWBOX Finally Finished! THANKS BOOMERS!

Post by pegasus »

I know it's been a while since I started on this project.

And I promised to do a recap when I got it completed (at least as completed as it can be, because I expect I'll be making changes as better items come along!) So here is my tentative recap.

This project became a group effort on Boomers, with everyone giving advice and suggestions, and people even sending me props in the mail! It's been SO MUCH FUN, and I want to thank everybody for their input. It never would've turned out as well without the help of all my Boomer friends.

This is the pictorial story of the creation of the shadowbox depicting the San Francisco office of Adam Cartwright, Esq.

The firm of ADAM CARTWRIGHT, ARCHITECT, was founded in 1869 and has since become one of the premiere architectural firms in California and surrounding areas.

As you will see, as you scroll through the pictures, Adam still maintains his Nevada roots, with his Ponderosa gear and memorabilia scattered around the office.

So here goes with the recap:

First is a picture of the original shadowbox, which I bought at a garage sale for $3.00. It's wood and glass, very well made, and over two feet tall. The lady had gotten it as a gift and was selling it because she just didn't want it. As soon as I saw it, I had the immediate idea of turning it into Adam's office, even though I had no idea how I was going to do. I was actually cackling to myself as I lugged it out to my van!
