Ben (and Adam & Joe) are worried about Hoss who's feeling haunted by Clarence Boling.


Ben: Got home kinda late last night didn't you, son?

Hoss: Yes, sir, I couldn't sleep so I rode into town for a spell.

Ben: With a work day in front of you?

Hoss: Might have been a good thing I did, Pa.

Ben: How do you figure?

Hoss: I saw Boling.

Adam: Well now, that wasn't such a good idea, was it?

Hoss: Maybe not but I learned something.

Ben: What was that?

Hoss: He's buried his brother. You know where? On the side of the road going into Virigina City. Every time I ride by it goin' or comin', I gotta go right by that grave.

Ben: Well Hoss, uh, he can bury his brother any place he's allowed to.

Joe: Pa's right, Hoss. I thought you were gonna try and forget about this thing.

Hoss: I was but he ain't gonna let me. He's finished his business, he's buried his brother, now why don't he go on?

Ben: Kinda hard to answer.

Hoss: I'm gonna find an answer.

Ben: Son, sometimes things happen, accidents happen, innocent accidents. Nothing you can do about 'em. Best thing to do is leave 'em be.

Hoss: I gotta find out. I gotta. I gotta. (Rides off).

Ben: You goin' someplace?

Adam: Yeah. It looks like Hoss may be chasin' up trouble. I think somebody oughta keep an eye on him.

Ben: I raised him to look after himself and I think he can manage.

Joe: I gotta go along with Adam, Pa. I'd feel alot better if one us went along...

Ben: I'd feel alot better if you just loaded up that wagon, both of you.

Adam: Where are you goin'?

Ben: Oh, I just remembered I gotta go into town, I gotta get some supplies. (He rides off).

Adam: Funny.

Joe: Yeah? What's that?

Adam: He just picked up supplies yesterday.

Joe: Oh, he wouldn't be going after Hoss. After all, he raised Hoss to take care of himself.

Adam: Oh, yeah. Let's load the wagon.
