Getting to Know Me

Hello to you all.All I know to tell you is that I am an old woman,will be 75 on May 9th,BUT I love Bonanza and especially Pernell Roberts.I love Elisha too and think she is one of the bravest gals that I know of.We post alot to one another when we both have time.My Mom passed away on Dec 30th 2007,and I've been really busy working with her stuff and haven't been on my pc for a few days.I had taken care of her come March 7th,would have been 12 years.I was right there with her 24/7.I'm having a hard time adjusting,but am feeling better.I'm making her a memory garden too.I got that idea from another lady that meets with the Hospice group as I do.Her husband died with pancreatic cancer same as Michael Landon,and she is so lost without him.We try to help each other.I've planted a pink dogwood and a Lilac bush in her honor.She loved Lilacs and yellow roses.I haven't done that one yet.Well I guess I've written enough,but if there's anything any of you would would like to ask,just ask.My life is an open book.I know I'm going to enjoy you all,I'm happy that Elisha told me about you.Thanks now,Alma

That's a wonderful story of how you have taken care of your mother. It's nice to be able to look back and know you did right by her to the very end. The memory garden you're making sounds wonderful. That is a wonderful story about your mother, and I can tell you loved her very much! I am 55 and lost my mom in March 2007.

Hi, Alma and welcome to Boomers! We're happy to have another fan to join in on our fun!

Alma, my beloved Grandmother passed away 2 years ago at the age of 94. One thing Grandma and I always did together was garden. So, after she passed on, I took many of her favorite plants, shrubs and flowers and transplanted them at my home in a garden that I had made in honor of her. I call it simply, "Grandma's Garden." I kind of like to think that Grandma lives on through these living plants that were always so special to her. And I get comfort each time I tend that garden, too. It's wonderful therapy!
