When Little Joe suddenly becomes ill after returning from San Francisco, it puts the Cartwrights in a turmoil.
Father's Day rolls around, and Hoss brings home a unique gift for Ben. The only problem is, it's annoying, insulting, and likes to sit on people's heads.
Written for June Penning from Prompts 2016. The prompt involved a Father's Day present, a thunder/rain storm, and a burnt roast. This is the alternate, longer version that stemmed from it.
Little Joe is nervous about his upcoming first day of school and doesn't want to go, so Sheriff Coffee steps in to help.

This story is loosely based on the song and movie, "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer."

Summary: Joe needs to retrieve a rifle he'd left at Eagle's Nest but is too afraid to get it. When he goes to see Adam to try to talk over his problem, Adam is reminded of an incident that occurred when Little Joe was only five. A WHI/WHIB/WHN for the episode, "Between Heaven and Earth."
Thanksgiving is coming, and strange things start happening at the Ponderosa that involve a giant turkey that only Joe can see, cattle rustlers, and strange grounds for romance.

When a baby is left on Ben's doorstep and entrusted to him, he searches to find the parents, and gets a surprising shock.
Adam goes on an unusual blind date, and his curious brothers follow him. Needless to say, chaos ensues that finds Ben paying a $300 fine.
While on his way home, Hoss passes through a deserted town... only to find someone there who takes him captive so he'll have a friend.
Adam is home for Christmas after graduating college, and ten-year-old Joe has a cold.
An old college friend spells trouble for Adam.
Hoss brings home his cousin's dogs to take care of while he takes care of a relationship gone sour. The dogs wreck havoc on the Ponderosa, particularly for Adam.
