Adam and Joe are forced to spend an unplanned night in the woods rekindling old coping skills after Joe is injured in a riding accident. SJS fans will recognize a familiar theme.  Those types of stories are alive and well, and don't require contributions from me. Nonetheless, I have raised my right hand, and freely admit to using Joe as a conduit to Adam, my eternal and true intended target.  Cheesy grin...

All sixteen-year-old Hoss wanted was a Christmas kiss from Ellie Miller.  He was so excited he set off for the Miller's place before his brothers.  Instead of a kiss, Hoss was soon hoping for a Christmas miracle.

A What Happened Instead story for No Less A Man. The Virginia City Town Council convinces Adam and Ben that Roy Coffee is no longer capable of doing his job. When Adam explains the situation to Roy, the sheriff swears him in as a deputy and then quits his job. It's then up to Adam to protect Virginia City from the Wagner Gang. When the gang arrives in town to rob the bank, Adam is injured. Ben, Hoss, Joe, and Roy all feel guilt for what has happened to Adam while serving Virginia City's citizens.

Gravely hurt and completely helpless, Adam finds himself at the mercy of a person from his past who seeks nothing but revenge. And for once, there's no chance he'll talk his way out of it.

In the end it might come down to who's more determined; and Adam surely won't give up. No, he won't, will he?

It is 1875. Two years later, Joe Cartwright's inability to cope with his wife's death is ruining his life. His Pa thinks getting away might be the answer. Little does Ben know that his decision will put Joe's life in danger, as well as the lives of the Ingalls' family who take a wounded Joe in and bring the wrath of a man who hates him down on their heads.

A What Happened Instead story for The Lady From Baltimore. Deborah Banning's scheme to marry her daughter to a Cartwright had come to fruition when Joe proposed to Melinda. But Melinda was in love with Adam. What if Melinda decided to have Adam, no matter the cost?

Fans were alternately devastated and relieved when Laura Dayton left Adam for Will. Here I'll share my vision of the event, starting with the fall from the house, what happened between the scenes we saw, and continuing on to how Adam finally gets full use of his legs again -- and his heart.

This story relates to a time and situation that is a turning point in the relationship between Adam and Little Joe Cartwright. As Joe faces death he has things to consider and correct, and Adam has to face his own fears for the future without his little brother.

A stranger follows the three Cartwright sons. Will he take one of them away?

14 year old Joe Cartwright was just trying to do something nice for a friend. Older brother Adam didn't see it that way. An argument between brothers sets off a series of events that turns into an unstoppable torrent of trouble which leaves one of Ben Cartwright's sons with a terrible task to perform, and another near death, trapped in the Belly of the Whale.

Joe is overdue returning home from a business trip which prompts Adam and Hoss to look for him.  Joint concern for their brother's welfare magnifies mightily when they stumble across a stranger in a backwoods saloon clad in Joe's favorite green jacket.

Twelve-year-old Little Joe is late for supper. Hop Sing is hopping mad and Adam is none too pleased. When he heads for the stable to look for his brother, Adam expects an argument – what he gets is something else entirely. Something that begins in terror and rolls on toward tragedy.
