Wow! A most wonderful story! You really wrote a Saga here! I am so glad you ended it as you did...the family, reunited at home, once again. I could easily see this as a movie for TV. Kudos!
Wow, this was an "epic-length" story!! I've put off reading it till this evening so I could get through it in one sitting. My goodness that was quite a winding tale; how did you ever keep everything straight? Great job!
I do have one question: usually when there are asterisks through a story, those lead to notations at the end of a story explaining the asterisks. But there were a LOT of them throughout the story, but no notations at the end. What's up with them? Just curious.
Author's Response:
Lovely to receive a comment/review on this story .. the first of the Captain Cartwright saga. I think I have written 10 following by The Homecoming series which is kind of a WHN after Adam returned home for good.
However, I just really wanted to thankyou very much for leaving a review, zookeepertx because I just loved writing this story, and as you probably noticed it was written quite a long while back.
Re the asterisks ... well, as you noticed there was a lot of research went into this story, and subsequent ones too, so whenever a character, location, situation was authentic historically then I put down the asterisk. I would
have needed another book to have written down all the notations, and perhaps I should have done, but I just wanted to get the story done.... many thanks again.
Wow! What an odyssey. I truly enjoyed this book and only wis it had been in actual, physical, book form so that I could curl up with it to enjoy over and over again. Your characterizations of the Cartwrights are so familiar and true to type, their adventures entirely authentic for the times and your research and historical references not only spot on but truly heart-felt.
This was a wonderful read. I'll by investigating your other stories with great anticipation.
Thank you, AJINBC. Eagles was my first of the Captain Cartwright series of stories all of which are based on some historial event which involved some research which was great if you enjoy history. Eagles was a story I just loved writing, it was an exploration into a different life for Adam, for his naval careerm but also his love for Joe and his family. Although there is little naval reference in Eagles and the adventures centre on Joe and his leaving Home and the search for him, this story was the launch pad for others - Adam;s naval career, Joe's eventual marriage and HOss' as well....they were tremendous fun to write
Author's Response:
Thank you for a wunderful story, with a well researched backgraund.
I really enjoyed it
Author's Response:
What a delight to find your review for this story. Thank you so very much. This story was really the beginning of my Captain Cartwright series, but I remember with fondness, the hours spent in researching and writing this particular one. I never thought that all these years later I would still be writing about him, his family, his extended family. Thank you again for letting me know you enjoyed it so much.
Amazing story. Brothers are going through hell to help each other.
Although we have learned once about the Indian history , reading now again how cruel, unfair and meaningless the fights were makes me sad and angry at the same time. Well researched and well written .

Many thanks for leaving a review for this story, AdamCult2b, I really appreciate it because it comes rather sweet after lying ignored in the library for so long...suddenly a review and it lifts the heart to know the wrods are read through and the characters live in someone else's memory for just a little while again. Thank you so much...Krystyna

Oh it was a delight to write this story, girlfromwl, I had such enjoyment from all the research as well. So very pleased that you enjoyed reading it, and hope that you enjy the sequels as much. I am now writing the 9th sequel to the story. Thank you so much for leaving a review for me, girlfromwl. Krystyna
wonderful story I never thought Adam would leave the ponderosa
Author's Response:
Thank you SO much, Pam. The fact that Adam did leave in the series and they gave reference to the sea in one or two following episodes made me think how great it would be to explore what the future had held for him. I love writing about the sea, but especially when Adam is at the helm of his ship, and, of course, returns home every so often to make sure everyone knows where his heart really is.... thanks again, Krystyna
Krys has written a well crafted, intricately detailed and researched tale of a family who can't be seperated, even by distance or circumstances.
The relationships between Ben and each of his sons, and Hoss, Adam, and Joe are very true to the characters were love and admire.
Wonderfully told and emotionally infused, this story is a must read!
Warning: tissue alert from time to time.
Author's Response:
Thank you so much for your review on this story, Tracy, and also for the encouragement you gave in posting reviews while it was in the forum. I am just so glad you enjoyed it so very much. I know many find it hard to accept that Adam left the Ponderosa for the sea, but when you see those wonderful sailing ships and remember his family background it isn't so surprising. I am now on No. 7 of the series with calls already for No. 8! Who would have thought it and this story really was the one that started it all off.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate what you have written here. Krystyna
A powerful story, you must of done a lot of research, specially on the native American indian, Custer etc., the bond, friendship and love between the Cartwright boys and their Pa is so touching and so well written, this is the first story l have read of yours, l am gonna check out the Library for more.
Author's Response:
Hello ansinico ... yes, I did a lot of research because I felt I owed it to all those who took part in such a turbulent time in America's history. But mainly, the story is about loyal love between the brothers and their father. I am so glad you enjoyed it for those reasons, ansinco, and thank you so much for the review you have left for me here. I hope you get to enjoy more of the stories I write in future. Krystyna
Read this as a WIP and couldn't wait for the next chapter to be posted. Definitely a chance to see the boys tested and stretched and their bond strengthened. Well worth the time to read it Action adventure are everywhere so don't settle in too much.
You did well on this and I enjoyed the WIP experience with you. I knwo I will be back to read this againa nd again.
Author's Response:
A lovely well thought out review, and one I appreciate very much, as I did all your comments and reviews when it was posted as a w.i.p
Thank you so much, Angelface1961 .... Krystyna
Great Story. Thanks so much for this wonderful story. I have to admit I never thought of Adam ever moving away from the Ponderosa, until I read this story and I was hooked on your Captain Cartwright stories ever since. All the background research you put into each one. I enjoyed the interaction of not only the Cartwright brothers, but everyone they came in contact with. Thanks again for sharing your story, Krystyna.
Author's Response:
