I enjoyed this story very much. You did a great job writing up these mystical creatures. A great story. I like where you went with this from The Dark Gate to an even darker gate. Brrr!

Thought I'd best say something. Reread the first few chapters and caught up to where I had reneged from the WIP.  So glad I I have read, this time, much more thoroughly - chosen the moment when I can take my time.

To say I am enjoying & totally absorbed in this beautiful, dark, story of realistic yet mysterious happenings would be more than an understatement. Forgive me for not delving into the why & wherefore but I need the next chapter & all the following chapters under my belt. I will be back.

Author's Response:

Thanks, ansi, for rereading the beginning chapters and I'm glad you are finding much to enjoy. Even though the story is "otherwordly," I still tried to keep it believable and realistic. Hope I was successful.

Another great story.  So interesting the way that Ross is drawn by the cave paintings and what it does to his mind as he keeps going back to look at them over and over.

Just fascinating the way the story told here could have been happening behind the scenes in the actual episode.  Very clever writing.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Martha, for leaving a review. I'm glad you thought that even though the plot was unusual, it was believable that Ross could have been so affected. Hope you enjoyed it.

"Opening The Dark Gate" is a heavy read, the subject matter taken from the episode "The Dark Gate".

The story expands Ross and Delphine's characters, giving both background and insight into their relationship. Adam and Ross' friendship adds just the right amount of sympathy for a character doomed by his own thoughts.

Adamant weaves mystical, Native American beliefs into this story, and while you won't find reason to smile much as you read, the story will draw you in.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Tracy, for reviewing not only on the forum but here as well. Appreciate the summary of this WHI for "The Dark Gate" and it's alternate explanation of Ross' behavior.
