Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: Bzf Signed

This is an evocative story, easily visualized, true to the characters and the family relationships, with essential linking quotes from the episode.  It is an interesting exploration of Adam’s emotional response to Peggy’s need to know of her father’s death, Laura’s reluctance to deal with the reality, and his own history, all exquisitely woven together.  Look for the understated perceptions in this story – they are pearls.  Thank you for the reading pleasure.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you read my story and I appreciate your comments.  I wanted to show Adam having an internal conversation as reality surrounded him.  I tried to explore what he remembered about a situation and why.  I think it's interesting how people can remember things differently about the same event.

Thanks so much, Bzf.

The Night Before, a WHB (What Happened Before) is written in Cartwright canon and adds a level of closeness between Adam and Joe that was not covered in the episodes.

The story is one of loss, forgiveness, and hope.

Author's Response:

You really captured the essence of my story.  I tried to go a little deeper than the episodes.

I'm glad you liked the relationship between Adam and Joe.  Thanks so much, Tracy.

Very sensitive and understandable written story!

You can understand and think deeply into Adam's thoughts and memories.

I find it very nice to read how his two brothers and his father understand his situation and his emotional state and how they supports and strengthens him with words.

This story would really have been an episode for Bonanza.

I enjoyed reading the story very much!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked the whole family being involved. I'm sure they would be supporting Adam with such a sensitive task as telling Peggy her father has died.

I appreciate your insight very much.

Thanks, Karol.

A story illustrating how one thought can lead to another and the reader follows Adam's musing almost as a stream of consciousness. His unpleasant task of informing Peggy Dayton about the death of her father forces him to relive how his father and he and his brothers dealt with the death of Marie.

An interesting read.

Author's Response:

Thank you for mentioning stream of consciousness.  I love that and I tried to give a glimpse into Adam's inner-thoughts and his memories.

I'm glad you read my story.  Much appreciated, Adamant.
