Chezza, point blank - this was really good. To be honest, heroines in most love stories with Adam often annoy me ( Probably out of jealousy haha) But this story was so well written and Angelique was so fleshed out that I was completely entertained throughout. Your banter was clever and realistic as were your descriptive phrases/scenes And the love story was very much understandable. I felt Adam's awe at the books, his jealousy over the fishing incident and the pain of his rejection and also Ross's death. And the fact that it wasn't working out between the pair even though they were so attracted to each other and so right for each other was totally relatable to me as well. I have blown many good things in my life too! haha
This isn't the most beautifully written review but your story certainly is worthy of one. And it's worthy of a sequel or 2 as well.
Mr. Cartwright, you may be excused! Im still chuckling over that scene....
Lisal, thank you so much. This is exactly the kind of detailed and generous review an author loves to get. I'm glad you could relate to the difficult aspects of Adam and Angelique's romance. I was worried readers might become annoyed or frustrated with their can't-go-can't-stay relationship but I find flawed characters more interesting and hoped some others out there would too. I refuse to say if Angelique's troublesome personality is at all autobiographical but I too will admit to a few stormy romances :)
So very kind of you to say the story deserves a sequel. The only fan fic (or any fic) I've previously written was poetry and a long time ago. When I came to Boomers a few months back I decided to try a story just to see if I could write prose. It's still very much a learning process for me but I'll give a sequel some thought. Your encouragement means a lot to this newbie writer.
