Title: The Left-handed Wife Reviewer: Wing1610 Signed

After reading this story, I took a deep breath. How do I feel now ? I am happy that Adam is riding home with his family. At the same time I am sad that he cannot live with the woman he loves.

This is the third story I read from you, Lisal. I love that they are so different. They only have that little bit of sadness in common. I like this. I have only one thing to criticize: Your stories are far too short!

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you so much Wing!  I'm delighted you are liking my things.  It does my heart good as I have been in a bit of a block lately.  Your kind words are much appreciated!!

Lisal, I respect that you're willing to push some boundaries to make your stories more interesting and realistic. I don't see any need for every love story to end happily ever after or fit within prudish social conventions. Real life and real love is messy. I like that your story reflects that.

I wasn't bothered by the "rough" language and laughed at the colourful expressions you used. The dialogue and behaviour of the Cartwrights was spot-on and wonderfully familiar. You know these characters and the bonds they share so well that you can write about them in a way that warms our hearts.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Chezza.  The fact that you found the guys in character is high praise and does my heart good.  I love these guys (obviously!) and when others who love them like my things, it's just the greatest feeling.  I so appreciate you reading!!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for reading this, sjc - and for your kind comments.  I'm so glad you liked it as I know I was crossing some folks' boundaries with it - not in regards to race, but sex and language, etc...  It does my heart a lot of good to know you enjoyed it.

A very good story that I enjoyed reading.

You did a great job in creating the character of Charley and the dialogue you gave him and his mannerisms made him so real.

I really like the different POV's and how you structured them in your story.  Each one had a unique perspective on what was happening and you highlighted that very well.  It was almost as if you let them be their own person, their own man, with their own feelings and thoughts.

You really delve into the loving but very different relationship that Hoss and Joe have with Adam.  Compelling to read about Joe's feelings - "month to month."

My heart was touched when I read "whispering his name."  So poignant.   I could feel their ache for him.  Good descriptive writing.

Your love for Adam and all the C's really shines through.  His tender heart and their human imperfections make them all the more real and lovable.

I'd like to give all four of them a hug after reading this.

Well done!

Author's Response:

Thanks, TL for this generous review. I really appreciate your inspiration a n d encouragement. This story was a tough one that started with a  prospects challenge and ended up taking a life of its own and ended up a little more controversial than ones I've put up thus far so it's been a little unnerving keeping it up, tbh. My main worry in writing these guys is that my love for the boys shines through so for you to see that in this one eases my worry so much. I am so very grateful. Thank you.

It’s a shame the people in town are judging Adam when they likely knew him so many years. I could see Adam had an invisible line with a tough decision to make. Despite the piece starting off dramatic you tie it all together in believable Cartwright fashion.

Author's Response:

Wow, Drifter...So  Sorry for my late reply to this !  I'm not sure how I missed it but I want you to know it's very much appreciated!    This was a scary story for me to write but I'm glad some readers saw it as true to our boys.  I thank you!!  And so very sorry for not replying sooner!

that was a very nice story, poor Adam finding love from a women he can't have. I felt Joes pain as well he seemed very hurt by finding out his brother was so close but didn't want to contact his faimly about the fact he had come back from the east. I liked how each family member seemed to take turns telling there side of the story yet it was seemly and still moved the story along at a good pace.

Author's Response:

I so appreciate your kind review.  It really means a lot. I know this story probably isn't everyone's cup of tea since i delved into some unusual areas but I'm glad you found some enjoyment in it.  Very, very thankful you took the time to let me know!

Of all the "where Adam went" stories I've read, this one is unique. The perspectivs of Ben, Hoss, Joe, and finally Adam fill in blanks and lay out Ponderosa life after Adam - until the ending. I won't give it away, but I will say the closure left me wondering WHN (What Happens Next) in the life of Adam cartwright and his family.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Tracy for your encouragement.  It really helped me through this slump.   Unique is a good word - since inadvertently stealing plots terrifies me.
