Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: pm1948 Signed

Enjoyed the mystery and Adam figuring it out.  He always does.

Author's Response:

Well thank you.  You're right - Adam is one smart guy, and that's what makes him so much fun to write about.  I've concludes there isn't much that Adam can't do.

Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed the story.  :)

I found myself wrapped up in this mysterious story of family and justice.

Adam wanted to do the right thing.  I love the inner-thoughts of the characters throughout the story, propelling the plot and also giving the reader some key insight into their turmoil and desires.   You did this well.

The twists and turns were exciting and surprising. Great details and the action scenes were done with skill.  I felt like I was there.

I also like the fact that you don't shy away from things that might make one uneasy.

All for one and one for all.  Not only physically but emotionally as well.

A well written story that I highly recommend.

Author's Response:

Hi, Tahoe Lee.  How nice to hear that you enjoyed the story.  Truthfully, I had to think for a moment about the plot of this one.  It's been a little while since I wrote it.  Eventually, and a little bit at a time, it all came back to me.  Yay!

Yes, Adam is always determined to do the right thing.  We can count on him for that.  He always handles a difficult situation properly, or as best he can.  He also seems to deal with a lot of significantly unruly characters over time.  :)

I like action stuff in general, so why not include some of it as we go along, right?  If you thought it worked, that's great.  I like to watch Adam do 'most anything.  :)

Not one of the Cartwrights would stand by if anyone went after a family member in lieu of themselves.  And we both know Adam would not stand by and allow anyone to take revenge on Joe.  Nope, that wouldn't work out for them.

Happy New Year, TL!  :)

A dramatic and intense story, and a "page-turner". I also like how you show the bonds of love between the Cartwrights. Very nice!

Author's Response:

Thank you, Sierras.  The family bond is what it's all about in any story about the Cartwright family, isn't it?

Any one of the 'boys' is a natural leader if necessity demands it.  Adam would never hesitate to step out in front of his brothers if he thought something dangerous was about to happen.

I'm happy to hear you found the story exciting.  Thank you for letting me know.  :)

Checked into the Library today since it had been so long got me, and saw your story. Without giving anything away, although Levi believed in an eye for a eye, sometimes justice comes in unusual ways.

But what is usual is that Adam wants to be the villain's nemesis, always taking matters peronally, but in this story, a greater power prevails. Thanks for finishing this up and hope all goes well with moving.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for checking in, Adamant!  The moving preparations are admittedly exhausting.  However, things are looking up that I'll live through it after all.

Yes, Levi was an eye for an eye kind of guy for sure.  I didn't like him much by the end of the story.  However, I see Adam as the kind of man that could make a lot of other men extremely uncomfortable.  And good for him - the other guys deserve it.  :)

I love your reference to Adam as the villain's nemesis - thank you.  I hadn't looked at things in quite that way before (possibly because I took so much time to do this), but that does sound perfectly descriptive to me.  That's exactly what happened.
