What an emotional story, I really felt for Violet. You really know how to write the young cartwrights well, I love the pure innocence of Hoss and the basic need of Adam for just a friend which he had in Violet. Thanks for writing such a good story.

What a touching story!  Centering around 10-year-old Adam and his friend Violet, with Hoss and Ben as side characters, this story really brings out Adam's personality as he deals with emotions he struggles to understand like love and grief.  The descriptions throughout the story are vivid; I can just see little Hoss climbing up to his chair that's too high for him and Adam picking up the dropped book by the pond, and I can practically feel the velvet surface of the blue chair. This is a fantastic take on the Prop Fiction prompt, and I enjoyed it very much!

Author's Response:
