What a great story, ansi! I love the relationship between Ben and Marie; one can easily see the affection they have for each other, and their banter is delightful! Marie's idea to have a celebration for Hop Sing warms my heart, and so does the glimpse of Hop Sing's back story that you give us. The portrayal of the three boys is great, too! Thank you for a very enjoyable story.
This is a very touching and as complex depiction of the Cartwright's relationship with Hop Sing. The lanterns are as firmly settled into the family story as Hop Sing himself. Very well written.
Well this is as lovely as I thought it was going to be after reading the beginning on the board. I found out while reading this that I absolutely adore Marie and saucy Ben, lol. And little Joe being as high in energy as he is when he's bigger Little Joe is so true to form and believable.
I love how you've told the story of this Cartwright family tradition. Beautiful language, just like the subject matter. And finding out what the different colors mean was really interesting, too.
