This is a really terrific story, Sierras. The close family bond the Cartwrights had really shown through here. You captured their characters very well, to the point where I could hear their voices in my mind as I read it.
I especially liked the part about the squirrels and owls, especially where TJ makes a remark about the squirrels chattering because there's something they don't like. And the casual conversation about owls peeking in the windows was quite amusing!
The ending was wonderful. Joe needed to have a talk with Pa to settle his thoughts and feelings concerning his father and Toby.
