Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: Elizabeth Holmes Signed

I very much enjoyed this short reverie.  Christmas time is not joyous for many people.  As we get older, there are more people to remember who are no longer with us.

Marie brought Ben into the present and reminded him of all the love that was and is his.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Elizabeth, for reading and leaving an encouraging review.

Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: Plato of the Ponderosa Signed

This was sweet and beautiful. Early prequel stories are some of my favorites when they are done well, and this one fits the bill. I love the glimpse into Ben's mind. He is so caring and fatherly, and even in the midst of his deep grief he thinks of his sons.

Thank you!

Author's Response:

Thanks you, Plate of the Ponderosa, for reading and reviewing. I enjoy writing the young Cartwright boys, and Ben's love for them naturally grew with each passing day.

Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: Annie K Cowgirl Signed

I can't tell you how much I love this story; it touched me deeply. There is nothing better than true friendship and love. Thank you so much for writing this, Tracy! Well done!

Author's Response:

Annie K, thank you so much for reading and commenting. Some readers don't care for the "mushy" stories, but they're my favorite, and writing the Cartwrights that way is something I do enjoy.

Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: adamant Signed

I've read this twice and each time I found it moving. Everyone who has grown children--and young ones as well--remembers back to the early days when Christmas may have been a hardship but but the struggles to provide happy Christmases was the best part. Ben goes through this with each of his sons and gladly, each Christmas is less and less a struggle. But each Christmas retold--3, one for each son, is a happy time filled with love.

A beautiful story artistically told. (And an old friend is mentioned--someone who only appeared in one episode yet is always remembered by diehard fans!)

Thanks, Tracy, for a heart-warming story.

Author's Response:

Thank you, Adamant, for reading this - again - and for nailing my intent on the head.

Diehard fan? Who, me? LOL
