If they hadn't been a father's dream

In 'The Secret', it turned out that Ben was right, believing in Joe. In fact, Adam, Hoss & Joe didn't often disappoint their father. (Bank Run, notwithstanding, LOL).
But I got to thinking. What if - by a BIG fluke - Ben had had a 'bad seed' boy ? A son like Jerome, the young lawyer in 'The Secret', a guy who could blithely push a girl off the side of a cliff.

How do you think Ben would have handled it ?
