Monday: Vera Miles (Vera June Ralston) was born in 1930 and will have
her 96th birthday in August. She moved fast after she graduated from high school in Kansas in 1948.
She was Miss Kansas (1948) and third runner up in the Miss American contest then left for California
and started landing small roles in television and film as Vera Ralston. However, because there was
already an actress with that name, she starting using her first husband's last name
(yes, Bonanza's Bob Miles). She was married to Bob from 1948-1954 and kept the name.
