Robert Vaughn played Luke Martin in "The Way Station." He was so annoying--it drove me crazy that Marty wanted to run away with him! But he did a great job with that character! 
Robert Vaughn was an extremely prolific actor. A couple of his better-known roles are Lee in The Magnificent Seven and Ross Webster in Superman III. He continued acting until his death in 2016.
