Margaret Hayes (1916-1977) was a woman of many talents. Besides acting onscreen and on stage (including Broadway), she was a model, fashion designer, editor of a fashion magazine, jeweler, and owner of a boutique. Margaret's original name was Florette Regina Ottenheimer. Her father was entertainer Jack Lewis Ottenheimer. As a young woman, Margaret auditioned for the role of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind. She didn't get that role, but she got a contract with Paramount and landed her first movie role the next year: the governor's secretary in The Man Who Talked Too Much.
