Cartwright friends is the supporting cast of Bonanza. They include Hop Sing, Sheriff Roy Coffee, Will Cartwright, Doc Martin, Jamie, Griff, Clem, Sam the bartender, Betty Endicott, Bob Miles, Dusty Rhoades & of course, the horses (Buck, Sport, Chubb & Cochise).

Buckskin Origins:
According to Oklahoma State University, the earliest traces of buckskin horses can be found in Spain, in the Spanish Sorraia. Spanish horse enthusiasts were, in the Middle Ages, quite determined to breed a horse of a golden color.
As Spanish explorers began immigrating to the Americas, they brought with them these golden horses, introducing genetically true buckskins to the new world.
After Bonanza went off the air, Lorne Green bought Buck from the studio. The Bonanza star didn't plan to keep the horse, though. Instead, he donated Buck to a therapeutic horseback riding facility. There, Buck was able to help children who had physical and mental disabilities.
