If Hoss had married, what kind of woman do you think he would have eventually settled down with? How many children would you like to have seen in his family?
I picture him with a tall woman, hair color doesn't matter, and she would be sweet like him and bring out the best in him. She would love animals and children. I picture him with lots of children and him as good a father as his own. They would have to build a house of their own to raise the children.
