Hello, I am a new Member. My name is Christine, I am an Austrian and lives in Vienna.
I was really surprised that a show, that ran 50 years ago on TV, has still a huge fandom. I found a lot about “Bonanza” at the Internet and youtube and I am happy to share my reawoken enthusiasm with other fans.
Two months ago I spotted casually on a German TV Channel “Bonanza”. I just wanted to watch only 1 or 2 selected episodes, because of remembering my childhood. But then I started to record more episodes and more episodes. And finally I ordered DVDs and the book “A Viewers guide to a TV Legend” by David Greenland. I was so eager to get more information about the show, the cast and the background.
My first favorite character was Hoss, that was when I was a child. He always was caring without reservation, was warmhearted and sometimes very funny. Then I became a girl and so Little Joe took over the place from Hoss. Now I am a woman and I like the Adam-episodes. Maybe in ten or twenty years Ben will be my favorite character? However, I almost forgot “Bonanza” in the last ten years …
Actually I never thought I would romanticize again – in my age (born in 1966!) - after leaving my youth behind me.
I am looking forward to "ride with Ben and the Boys" again. (Quote David Greenland)
