Hello friends

This is my first post in these forums. Here is a little info about me. I am a retired Deputy Sheriff and served 32 years in the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. I moved to the Reno / Sparks area of Nevada where I retired about 10 months ago. I have been an amateur old west historian most of my life. I competed in a sport called Cowboy Action Shooting and competed in the "End of Trail" World Championships for eleven straight years. I love Western films and television series. In 1960 or 1961, I had a photo taken of me sitting on Lorne Greene's lap with Dan Blocker and Michael Landon standing behind us. Unfortunately, somewhere during my childhood the photo was lost. I grew up watching that television program.

After Getting married 22 years ago, I spent my honeymoon at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The Ponderosa Ranch was a 20 minute drive from the hotel we honeymooned at. I had the good fortune to visit the ranch twice as an adult and once as a child before the land was sold to real estate developers. I now live one hour from the Ponderosa Ranch site and forty five minutes from Virginia City. Thank you allowing me to join your forums.
