Hello all,
I have recently fallen in love with this show since late last year. Both my parents were in need of full-time care and then my father fell ill with a stroke and went into a nursing home. He died last November. Passing the days with my mom who also has dementia with nothing at all worth watching on TV is very difficult. Much like young parents do with small children, I guess, it makes it much easier to have something on TV to watch. Luckily, I discovered METV and I now have it on all day long with the westerns on during the day. I don't remember much of Bonanza from when I was a kid. My favorite shows back then were Lost In Space and Batman (also on ME!). But it has certainly caught my attention now, especially Adam. I now plan to get the show on DVD so I can watch any episode I want at any time because there's so many years worth of this show that it takes too long for a channel to run through them all and start over.

The first four seasons have been released on DVD. They are spectacular. You can be a help to BonanzaBoomers if you go up to the top and hit "Home". There is a banner on the homepage that takes you to Amazon.com and brings up the first season. You can purchase all 4 seasons from there and Boomers gets a little "thank you" from Amazon. Season 5 is due out sometime around Valentine's Day.
There are a couple of places on the net that offer all 14 seasons of Bonanza. I've read only bad things about the quality of the picture and sound. I even read a few customer reviews that said they couldn't see the picture at all!
I HIGHLY recommend buying the Official releases through Amazon. The picture, sound and "extras" are truly amazing.

. :welcome to Boomers :grin
