William Demarest (1892~1983) had a long and varied acting career that included 168 credited roles over 52 years. He began in vaudeville, and then moved on to stage, film, and television. He is perhaps best known for his seven-year role as Uncle Charley in My Three Sons. He guest starred in two Bonanza episodes, Old Sheba, and also played Enos Milford in The Hayburner.
