Bonanza Boomers

Hi all,

My name is Therese, and I just joined the list a couple days ago. I've been doing some reading up and am trying to get up to speed, but to be honest, I don't have much of a handle on the episodes, and there are still many I have yet to see. I look forward to working my way through them.

I am well into my first Bonanza fanfic (I won't tell you who my fave character is, but I will say I was 5000 words into it before any of the Cartwrights other than Adam were mentioned. . . )

I don't know how it is that I never discovered Bonanza until now. I mean yes, I'd seen some old re-runs on t.v. but never thought that much about them, then tuned into some of the afternoon ones on cable recently, and bam, I was a goner.

I'm an avid equestrian (I collect equines--real ones) so you'd think that I'd have gotten hooked on a Western long before now, but apparently I'm a very slow study. I did finally come to see the light, so maybe there's hope for me yet?

I've been catching up on different areas of the forum, and I have to say I haven't found a friendlier, wittier group of people out there in cyberspace, so I sure hope to fit in.

My first question (and I'm warning you, there probably will be many) is I can't seem to find the 'register' link at the gallery which is really driving me nutty as I can't WAIT to start drool--, er, looking at all of the pictures there.

Okay, one more question--and it probably won't be the last.

Remember I said I was a slow study? (Er, that's not really the question. . .) I just spent half an hour trying to get my darn avatar resized to the right dimensions, then noticed that I am the ONLY person on here with an avatar of themselves--everyone else has their chosen Cartwright or the actor who portrays that character.

Have I already made a huge faux pas?

Trust me, it's not that I'm in ANY way adverse to an Adam avatar, I just always thought that an avatar was a good way to give others the face behind the keyboard.

& Therese. I know you will have lots of fun here this is a GREAT site to be on. Your Avatar looks great. There are several on here who have their own personal avatar. So I think you are okay with yours. Again make yourself at home and have fun.

I just don't want to be seen on the 'net ... my own little paranoia I guess. Besides, I'd rather stare at Hoss any day!
