Hoss POD Nov. 11-16 ~ A Man of Empathy

Post by CowgirlAtHeart »

According to "Psychology Today," empathy is "the experience of understanding another person's thoughts, feelings, and condition from his or her point of view, rather than from one's own." I think that describes Hoss's personality to a T. He is always putting himself in another person's shoes and seeing how much they are hurting!

MONDAY

We see Hoss's empathy in "The Phillip Diedesheimer Story" when he talks to Helene after the death of her fiancé. People have told Helene they're sorry, but it hasn't helped. Hoss shows Helene he knows just what she's going through and how much it hurts. (He experienced the same pain with the death of Emily Pennington). He tells Helene, "You can sometimes forget the pain, but you can't ever forget the love."
