I'm enjoying learning what everyone's nick means.

We had this thread a couple of years ago and it was such a huge success, we actually ran a contest to see who had the most unique username and Lily Hunter won. Everybody had thought that was her name but turns out she had a hobby and likes to hunt Lilies, or something like that. (For those who are interested in seeing how this played out, it should be stickied up top in our Links in our Bonanza Viewpoints forum)

Glad we're doing this again, especially with so many new members.

Here's mine:

When I was a teen there was a bad movie of a fabulous book by Jacqueline Susanne called "Once is not Enough". This movie starred Deborah Raffin and after my mother and 2 of my friends saw it, they thought I looked like her. Her name in the movie was January, so as a joke my family started called me January and when I joined the Bonanza community, January was reborn.

Lily Hunter is a genealogist. This takes her into a lot of cemeteries. Hence, she is "hunting lilies."

My real name is Virginia and many call me Ginny, but some have called me Gina as well. It is a nickname.

Apart from my gorgeous husband Michael,alas the name is all l have to share with the other passion of my life, Michael Landon/Little Joe,the first two letters of the other four loves of my life, my son Andrew, daughter Siobhan, grand daughter Niamh and grand son Conor, it works for me.

I was named after my Mom's cousin (Doris) who was only able to have one child which was a boy. All my friends I grew up with just called me Dori, so I went with that.

pony is a shortened version of my original nick, which was dustypony21. That was just too dang long to deal with, plus at the time there was a Boomer named dusty and that caused some confusion, so I decided to go with pony and I'm glad I did.

I've always wanted a nickname in real life but never had one. I know it sounds silly, but it makes me happy when I visit with some of my BZ buddies and they call me 'pony.'
