Don't forget the "Penning from Prompts" in the fanfic section of the forum. WAAAAYYYYY back in the long ago, someone asked how many different directions one sentence or idea could take if turned into a mini-fanfic. And the mini-fanfic was born. (I know of one person who started writing mini-fanfics and is now a published author! Really!)
