Welcome, Big John. I don't think you'll get any arguments from anyone here about the release of the DVDs and the state of TV today.

Big John! Glad to have you with us here at Boomers. I was 10 when Bonanza first aired, and was hooked from the very first show. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of season 2 on December 7, 2010.....and I sure hope they hurry up with the release of the others. Boomers is a great place to talk about Bonanza and the Cartwrights, join right in and have fun!!

I was six when Bonanza came on the air. I was too young to appreciate the first six (Adam) years. Several months ago I caught an episode on TV Land and I was hooked.

You're right! Tv-Land is my "Knight To Remember!" I'm always working at that time, so thank goodness for my old-fashioned VCR!
And Age? is a matter of "selectivity"--when I "escape" to the Ponderosa, all time and space drop away, and I'm a kid again, wishing I was as cool as Adam! I even have the black shirt to prove it!! All-right, so it doesn't exactly fit anymore, but that's what dreams are made of, right? Big John

I was a teen when Bonanza was aired in the 1960's and you are right...we waited all week long for that special hour, 9 pm on Sundays to join, as you said, the 'coolest' family on TV.

Howdy, Big John! I'm a spry 63 and remember most ALL the westerns from the late 50's on. But BZ was my very favorite. I wanted Ben as a father, Hoss and Joe as brothers, and Adam as a husband. Oh, the fantasies I had...............
