I think it's safe to say that Little Joe Cartwright was never at risk of becoming a National Merit Scholar, or whatever academic honors they had back then. We've all snickered over the implications in "The Wooing of Abigail Jones" ... obviously Joe was, shall we say, a less than studious student! Just for fun, pretend you're Miss Jones. What would you write in the "Comments" section on Joseph Cartwright's report card????
