Of course I'm a big Bonanza fan -- always have been! My career was in TV programming and back when I was Program Director of KTLA in Los Angeles, Bonanza was an important part of our schedule. I'm sure it was possibly annoying to some folks, but I always liked to schedule special episodes like holidays and actor birthdays on different days -- going out of order -- but we eventually made it through all of them.
I'm amazed how many outlets now are running the series. I especially love Encore and their beautiful prints, full-length and no commercials presentations.
One of my special interests is the amazing panoply of guest stars who made appearances in Bonanza. The 1960s and 1970s, especially, were such a great time when we had wonderful character actresses and actors who were on everything. My particular favorites are Mariette Hartley, a multi-Bonanza guest star, and I was so pleased to yesterday see Michael Dunn's exceptional job in Season 11's It's a Small World.
Anyway, glad to be here and I will be contributing! Thanks for all the hard work and enthusiasm I've seen here!
