Fade ins during the editing of episodes were never really meant to do more than to say, "Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . ."
I started taking notice of them, screencapping as the fade in took place. And for me, emotional creature that I am, I found that many seemed to speak more to the emotion of the past or upcoming scene, and some just took my breath away.
