Way back when, the first time I had to create a screen name, I tried a few things but they were already taken. So, I looked around at my 2 cats, 6 dogs and 2 horses and realized I kind of lived in a zoo, of sorts. Since I live in Texas, I tried to use zookeepertex but, strangely, that was taken too! Since I'm not creative enough to come up with anything else on the fly, I just took out the "e" in "tex" and there you go. Only later did I realize how difficult it was going to be to pronounce! Now I'm stuck with it.

Mine comes from the fact I’m from Kentucky and went to EKU (Eastern Kentucky University) where the mascot is the Colonel, it’s not for KFC, XD

This is a fascinating thread! Nettle is a corruption of my name - Annette - and, when I first signed up with it originally on twitter, every variation I tried didn’t work. So someone suggested I use my birth year with it.

I’ve regretted it ever since.
