Cap by Missy Cartwright
Mildred was born in 1905. She started her acting career with a group of traveling players, then moved on to Broadway. She first appeared onscreen in 1938 in an episode of The Mercury Theatre on the Air. She was in The Quiet Man and Cheaper by the Dozen. She also played a grandma in an episode of Trapper John, M.D. I remember her best as the enchantress Griselda in The Court Jester with Danny Kaye--they had several hilarious scenes together, including one where she made Kaye's character memorize a tongue twister to save him from a poisoned cup at a tournament. Mildred was never married. She passed away from cancer in 1994.
