I thought it quite sad that, at the end, the boys were playing happily in the school yard and Jonathan was right there but they didn't even acknowledge him. I would have loved them to have given him a quick hug or a wave or even a smile before running off and playing, but they just ignored him. :sob

Saw this yesterday. Very emotional and moving ep, very well constructed with some lovely dialogue. I also loved the heart-rending music.
I thought Ben's sudden fury and aggression was a little out of character here:

The old guy did an amazing job, gave such a moving performance, especially with his speech near the end, which made me cry proper tears! I loved the way it highlighted that nobody listens to either the old or the young, very well done.

Yes, Michael wrote with his heart. I was to the point, watching this, I wanted to reach in and take those boys myself. It's ok if the youngest wouldn't talk. I'm used to deaf and hearing impaired children, not only my two but I volunteered in their Spec. Ed classes. It took an older [ I'm old too!] man to show unconditional love to the children. :hearts :thumbup
