Leslie Nielsen is awesome in this episode as the Civil War officer who can't seem to let go of the past. It always amazes me how an actor can so effortlessly go into a monologue, really believing that there are people around him. I've heard stories about how wartime can affect those who fought, and Nielsen delivers a stunning performance as the man who's still there.

An interesting trivia piece is that he and Lorne Greene, both from Canada, knew each other long before Bonanza began. Leslie was one of his students, believe it or not, at the school that Lorne had founded and taught at, the Toronto Academy of Radio Arts, originally called Lorne Greene School of Broadcasting.

That's interesting about Lorne and Lesley Nielson both being fellow Canadians. Many guests on Bonanza have worked previously with one or more of the cast. What happened to Lesley's Character, Paul Rowan, unfortunately happens to many who have fought in a war. Flashbacks can be very frightening, especially if those around them are unaware of what is happening. :shrug
