There's a pang in my heart when I watched this - can't help it.

I pouted when the new guy slept in Adam's room, but the ultimate insult for me was when he put on his clothes. I just didn't like that.
I know it's a story, but I didn't want to share anything about Adam with this guy. :sad :adam

Ben needed glasses! How he could mistake a complete stranger for his son is unbelievable! I know it was in the script, but still...

Yeah, that was odd. I understand wishful thinking, but I could have told him that wasn't Adam's behind. Even when we're talking about an adult child, a parent should know these things. :grin

That was a bit odd that Ben thought he was Adam from the back! I couldn't see the resemblance. Ben was too quick to bring him to the Ponderosa. It was an ok story but not a favorite.

Ben, Hoss and Joe even discuss the facial similarity between Gilly and Adam; I don't see it.

But I can understand the intial mistake, Ben thinking it's Adam. I think that the writers or director had him stare too long before he called out Adam's name. Ben didn't expect to see someone standing in the house so I can understand how, upon first sight, he would think Adam had returned home.

Ah, but then we are both disappointed. Funny though, the lines come from the end of a poem by Robert Lewis Stevenson indicates death: Home is the sailor, home from the sea and the hunter home from the hill. Gillie Maples comes "home" and dies.

I was very disappointed and remember being upset with BZ when it wasn't Adam coming home from the sea. As I had it in my young head that his absence was just an oversight, anger followed quickly. This is an episode that I cannot critique without emotion. :mad

Nope, I don't like Gilly Maple's wearing the MIB's clothes either. And he's sitting in the blue chair, too? :no It just looks wrong!

I don't think his face looks anything like Adam. But that cap of him in the gif getting on the horse made me look twice.

I haven't seen this ep for a long, long time. Maybe it's time to check it out again.

This was one of the strangest episodes. I remember a fan saying that she simply chalked this off as being a nightmare Ben is having. I go with that interpretation.

OK, that explains it.

I just watched this almost in it's entirety, having missed the first few minutes. The only resemblance between Adam and "Gilly" is that they're both men. I'm not an Adam fan, but even I can see that Adam is far better-looking than "Gilly". If you've seen this recently, do you really think that "Gilly" would have fit into Adam's shirts? I think "Gilly" was too big.

Anyone read any fanfics in our library about Adam coming home? I know the movies had him in Australia, but the I don't choose to consider the movies as canon.
