I like this episode, but I wish there was a scene at the end where we got to see Joe again...the last we see of him is when he's been shot and Ben is carrying him to the doctor. By the end, we're told he's going to be okay, but it would feel more satisfactory to actually see him!

Totally agreed Cowgirl. As a matter of fact, I feel like the first time I watched this episode, I said to myself, "Now we get to see a Joe, Pa happy moment", or something equivalent. And it never happened. :rotfl

What's really funny about pa carrying Joe. I read that as a joke Michael had tiny little weights sewed into his jacket to make himself heavier! You can see pa struggling to carry him, probably wondering how he got so heavy. I love when Joe stands out in the street with his legs spread out. What a view!

As I've said before, Cowgirl, I'll say it again. The only way to be satisfied when the writers leave you hanging, so to speak :laughing , is to write your own additional scene. I myself, was rather upset over this, but at the time, never thought to do it. I'd love to read one, though.

Also, I read somewhere that for the scene where Joe is shot, and Ben lifts him up to carry him to the doctor? Well, Michael Landon, as a joke, had had lead sewn into his pants! Can you imagine that? And Lorne Greene was still able to carry him!

That prankster! :ha Poor Lorne, going into the scene so seriously, not knowing Mike was playing a joke on him!

I know, right? It may seem funny now, but I don't think Lorne Greene thought so!

I agree a Joe and Pa scene at the end would have been good. I was also expecting a to see Burke's brother go and see Joe (or maybe I just want more of Joe in general). What I have really enjoyed after watching these episodes (some I remember from years ago, some I haven't seen before) is finding fanfiction where folks have added those missing scenes or added a twist.

It's not exactly a favorite episode of mine, but I like it.

Life seemed to fall into two categories for Joe. Either he was falling in love with women or women were falling in love with him.

Twins often have similar names like Jeff and John, Dan and Dave. But I always wished the writers had come up with something other than Burk and Booth. It was a total tongue twister for me. I kept thinking of them as Burth and BOO-k! :grin
