Old Sheba is one of my go to episodes. :elephant We have the entire family interacting and a guest star who can hold his own along side an animal. Sheba does her part too. From the expression on Ben's face when he opens the barn door to the look on Hoss' face when he hears the rain begin to fall, I am captivated by our Cs.

Hoss and Joe at their best! I turned this on for my granddaughter while she spent the day here. She laughed right along with me. Even more funny was that Michael "borrowed" Sheba and had her put on Dan's front lawn!

Sounds like Mike was as mischievous as Little Joe!

Look at that! And Pernell was always said to be the greatest prankster on the set ... They were all the same I'm afraid when it came to let off steam! :lol

Along the line of pranksters (and not Old Sheba) - I have a vague memory of ML once talking about either he or Dan turning an ostrich loose in the other's house. I don't remember who started it, but Mike said the thing ate the lampshades. Good Lord! :lol

The very idea of an elephant on the Ponderosa makes this one a lot of fun. Have to say, Joe really does take advantage of Hoss pretty blatantly.

Haha I love this episode! I'm with you, Cal. This is one of my go to episodes. I always get a few laughs out of it and just love Mike and Hoss's schemes. Funny little tidbit I hadn't heard before, Sharry! :lol

Old Tweedy sure got the best of those two. He got Hoss to work for free and got old Sheba back. Joe needed to stop "managing" and get back to the Ponderosa. I haven't seen this episode in a while but didn't Hoss call him "MR. Manager" in a tone that indicated just what he thought of his so-called managing skills.

I wondered about one thing. Where did Hoss and Joe plan to keep Sheba if she stayed on the Ponderosa? I mean, wouldn't she have been too big to keep in the barn all the time? She wouldn't fit in any of the stalls. Were they planning on building Sheba her own place? :ranch

Hmmm. Where to keep Sheba. I guess she could go back to Dan's house until they build a warehouse-size barn.
