The Rifleman

Post by nyspats » Thu Jun 20, 2013 5:44 pm

Image The cable channel AMC has been showing episodes on Saturday mornings which brought back fond memories of watching Chuck Connors and Johnny Crawford as Lucas and Mark McCain. As a "Brooklynite" it always amused me to find a western character like Lucas (Connors was also a Brooklyn native) with a Brooklyn accent.
Image "The Rifleman" ran from 1958 to 1963 and Michael Landon guest starred twice in "End of a Young Gun" (1958) as Will Fulton and "The Mind Reader" (1959) as Billy Mathis

Lucas frightened me at first - but his scenes with Mark showed a side of him that was so attractive!

I watch The Rifleman everyday on Metv. They show two episodes, and I have seen the ones with Michael Landon.

MeTV has this on when I'm usually making supper, so watch it now quite a bit. Much better than any of the other choices to watch in that time period!

The Rifleman was another one I watched. I loved watching the interaction between Lucas and Mark...he was another great dad!

I'm another fan of the Rifleman episodes that show the interaction between Mark and Lucas. I have seen some of the advertisements featuring Johnny Crawford, but not this one. Thanks for posting this, Ellen!

Spats, I swear I can't hear Chuck Connors's Brooklyn accent! :lol
