Jack Albertson was born in 1907. He was a tremendously prolific actor in vaudeville and on Broadway and onscreen. He is one of only nine actors ever to receive what is called the "Triple Crown of Acting": an Oscar (for his role in The Subject Was Roses), a Tony (for the stage production of The Subject Was Roses, and an Emmy (for his role in Chico and the Man). He played Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and voiced the character of Amos Slade in Disney's The Fox and the Hound. Jack continued acting until his death in 1981 at the age of 74. He was married to June Wallace Thomson, and they had one child.
