Then Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri majoring in Chemistry. She transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle, graduating in 1960 with a degree in Theater Arts and Design. She was crowned Miss Nevada in 1959 and represented her state in the 1960 Miss America Pageant.
Career After moving to Hollywood, Dawn made guest apperances on many shows. Such as, Wagon Train, Tales of Wells Fargo, Surfside 6, Hawaiian Eye, Maverick before taking the role of Mary Ann on Gilliagn's Island. She also appeared on Laramie, Vega$, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and Baywatch, and Roseanne, High School USA, and ALF. She was also in movies such as, The New Interns, Palm Springs Weekend, The Town That Dreaded Sundown and Return To Boggy Creek. On October 18, 2007, returning from her birthday party, she was observed swerving across the roadway, and was found in possession of marijuana. She was arrested by Idaho police. A third party who had used Dawn's car earlier that day, came forth and admitted the marijuana belonged to them. She pled guilty to one count of reckless driving, was fined, and served six months unsupervised probation. Image Dawn's Mug Shot Today Dawn is still acting. She just finished a movie called Hotel Arthritis. Which is a Comedy-Horror movie. Sounds kind of interesting.. Image Dawn in the movie Hotel Arthritis. Image Another picture of Dawn from earlier this year. Trivia Here's some trivia about Dawn: She auditioned for the role of Lois Lane in Superman 1978 but, lost the role to Magot Kidder.
She is the spokeswoman for Idaho potatoes since 2004.
Has been asked along with Gilligan co-star Tina Louise to appear in television ad campaigns for years. But, the two do not like each other and haven't spoken in years. So, turned down the offers. One of them was to be an Old Navy commercial with them in character as Mary Ann and Ginger still stuck on the island.
