From Bonanza Guest Star to The High Chaparral Star!

The Cannon family runs the High Chaparral Ranch in the Arizona Territory in the 1870s. Check out another western by David Dortort.

I had a huge crush on Henry Darrow ...
I used to think he was kind of cute myself.
I met my husband because my roommate and I wanted to see Old Tucson where they filmed High Chaparral and other westerns. We wound up going to Tombstone instead that day, which is where I met future DH. Some years later DH and I went back to Arizona and revisited Tombstone and saw Old Tucson.

What a wonderful story, sonora! Arizona is a terrific place to vacation, especially if you meet your future husband there, lol!

I knew some of these folks had been on both shows, but not all of them. Great info.

That's so interesting to see all the actors that appeared in BZ and HC! Some I would never had recognized if they weren't pointed out ~ even with the pictures to compare to I wasn't able to see it!

I suppose that if the actors were signed up to the studios, they would be used in many productions.

I'm always amazed to see just how many actors/actresses guest-starred on Bonanza! Makes you realize just how long 14 years on TV is!

I used to think that it was a terrible place to have a ranch and that they should move next to either the Ponderosa or Big Valley.

I agree! They couldn't relax, because they lived in constant fear of Indian raids which seemed to be every other day! :grin
