Re: Stagecoach West ~ 1960-1961

I can't remember watching this, although I loved Zane Grey Theater. Stagecoast West had some actors in it. :thumbup

Re: Episode 36 - THE MILL

I understand this completely. The show was supposed to be based in mid-1800's but episodes were written as if they were a part of the 1960's era. Another taboo subject I hear in most western TV shows and movies is when a women is expecting. In the 1800's nobody ever mentioned a pregnancy in any way!...

Re: Episode 11 - THE TRUCKEE STRIP

I love this episode. It was one of the first romances for Joe and Amy was a sweet girl. I didn't like when he pulled a gun on his father but Ben seemed to understand. Good thing he didn't shoot! Too bad Amy died at the end, and when Joe walked out of her room in tears always it still makes me cry, a...

Re: Episode 10 - THE MAGNIFICENT ADAH

I love when Hoss and Joe sneak out the window and into town, not knowing pa and Adam are already there! I love the interaction between the brothers the most, the way they let pa know they didn't approve of Adah. This is a good early episode. :yes

Re: Have Gun - Will Travel ~ 1957-1963

Pernell played in one too. He played a mean railroad manager who killed Hey Boy's brother. So you know how that would fair out. I always wonder what he thought later when in Bonanza'a third season 1961-1962, he had to wear a costume similar to Paladin's. I've never seen the one with Pernell. I don'...

Re: The Restless Gun ~ 1957-1959

I used to watch some of the episodes on GRIT when I had cable TV. I've seen the one with Michael [he was a bad boy!] and one or two with Dan. I could see how David Dortort chose them both to be on Bonanza. Both Michael and Dan had charisma and even in their early roles they were wonderful actors. :yes

Re: Episode 6 - THE JULIA BULETTE STORY

I enjoy this episode because I sense that the actors are trying to bring their characters to a more realistic light (the dynamics between the brothers, the relationship between pa and Little Joe). What I do find odd is the writing in this one. I've always felt that it has several endings and it alw...

Re: Riverboat ~ 1959-1961

The show sounds interesting but I could see how big name stars, like McGavin and a newcomer, Reynolds, might clash. They were basically thrown together without having a chance to get to know one another. Sometimes actors are able to work well together and sometimes their personalities don't work as ...

Re: Episode 429 - THE MARRIAGE OF THEODORA DUFFY

I'm not fond of this episode. If the writers simply threw parts together to make an episode I believe it. I love The Hunter and I cried when it was the last episode. Lorne was so angry the way the show ended so suddenly, without warning that he refused to show up! I don't blame him. :mad

Re: Episode 156 - LOVE ME NOT

It's not my favorite episode and could be degrading to women but it did have it's moments. Ben washing her hair [ no bear grease!] was one scene I loved, when Joan wouldn't be quiet-dunk her head in the water! :ha I just looked at the funnier parts and ignored the rest of it. This was based in the l...
