Re: Episode 8 - THE PHILIP DIEDESHIEMER STORY

This is one of the better episodes in season 1 and shows PR still involved in the acting. In later seasons his acting sometimes seemed nonchalant - even so, still very good. His acting here is spot on. In this episode, Adam is a very confident, take charge guy - I think it was how PR envisioned his ...

Re: Episode 101 - THE FIRST BORN

Can somebody please help me here? I am either not understanding the Bonanza series or am completely stupid. The reason may be because the series had so many different scriptwriters - never a good idea, :no BUT this is my reasoning: Of the three brothers, Joe was the only one that actually had a moth...

Re: Episode 68 - SPRINGTIME

A really enjoyable episode. So many wonderful and fun moments. I think they all enjoyed doing this one - except maybe Ben that allowed himself to be bullied into working like a slave - which is not like him! A big favourite!! :very happy

Re: Episode 32 - DEATH AT DAWN

I fully agree. Adam was maybe the one son the most afraid of losing his father, because of the losses he suffered early in his life. Thus his decision must have been extremely traumatic for him and him sticking to his mind over feeling decision must have been hell. One of my favourite episodes!!! :t...

Re: Episode 148 - THE LILA CONRAD STORY

In my humble opinion and experience of the world, this episode portrays perfectly that those men (and women) who are the biggest and loudest judges of the 'bad passions' of this world, is so because they know themselves so well. If they do not stand against it they would fall for it. As he did. :thu...

Re: Episode 106 - THE WAY STATION

Loved this episode. Well performed. The storyline was excellent - for a change. As a young girl living in a stage station in 1860 she would see a number of people (ladies included) go by and of course would have talked to them about the places they were or went to. That would explain her wish to see...

Re: Episode 44 - THE SAVAGE

Maybe it was the way Adam was raised - Ben could have told him as a boy and a young man that once he had 'discussed' and acknowledged the matter, it could be forgotten and "let go" and not brood on it. Men are different from women. They are more practical in their approach to life and its issues. If...

Re: Episode 121 - THE HAYBURNER

Interesting episode. Full of fun and scheming. Wonderful acting. Many funny lines. A pity they changed the characters to fit the story. Hoss usually is the level-headed non-gambling one. Adam not losing his cool about Hoss losing the horse? Not being honest about the whole affair to Pa? They knew he...

Re: Episode 48 - THE COURTSHIP

I watched this episode recently. I think Hoss was really infatuated with Helen. I do know (at 72 I should) that one can fall in love within one day. Remember - we actually fall in love with our minds - the heart follows what the mind experience. Helen was very pretty and made Hoss feel like he was a...

Hi, from a Granny Newbie

Hello everyone, I am a very new Bonanza (actually Adam and PR) fan. I only discovered Bonanza on YouTube toward the end of 2017 for the very first time!!! Can you believe that! The reason being that I am a South African and we never had the "evil influence" of television during the sixties. South Af...
