Re: Episode 104 - A HOT DAY FOR A HANGING

Maybe Pernell saw the script and said, "Gosh, kids, I'm going to be really busy that week." :wink I love Hoss and I think Dan Blocker did a great job playing him, but I don't believe Blocker fought the writers for better scripts the way Roberts and Landon did. He just did the best he coul...

Re: Episode 105 - THE DESERTER

@KatieC I love this movie! I wish they would make one about Osceola! Also a movie about The Trail of Tears would be good. Hollywood has come a long way but has still more to do!
I saw Dances in the movie theater, but I do have a dvd of it

Re: Episode 105 - THE DESERTER

I know that they were just extras. With the exception of The Lone Ranger and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, I don't know of many westerns, TV shows or movies that used Native Americans in major roles. Jay Silverheels who played Tonto was born in Canada & was the son of a Mohawk chief. Larry Sellers ...

Yeah as walk ons or extras. No lines or closeups. And perhaps true, but that site isn’t 100% just saying. :scared3

Re: Episode 105 - THE DESERTER

Oxgirl You make some valid points for major plot holes. I have wondered these things too. It brings us back to the writing. PR stating that so many episodes had poor writing comes to mind. I want to add that the Native Americans are typically portrayed very cliché. Bonanza at this time had not one ...

Haha, "If you can't talk to each other without fighting go on up to bed" Haha, say no more! :laughing I also wasn't a fan of the snapping-of-the-sticks lesson from Ben, it was like he was talking to a 12-year-old! :no I really appreciate Ben’s stick lesson. You can talk and say it all you...

He played the Richard Burton part. Wish they had him do the movie. Burton didn’t thrill me at all. :mad

Re: Episode 137 - RAIN FROM HEAVEN

Pernell was doing the play Night of the Iguana at the time this episode was filmed . He really isn’t needed. Until I got the dvds I never saw him in this. I guess they cut that scene for commercials.

Re: Episode 195 - DEAD AND GONE

@KatieC No problem, just thought you'd like to know he wasn't American or native. coming here at 5 years probably why no accent. He was a fine actor, a shame he died so young. :whistling
