Re: Episode 1 - A ROSE FOR LOTTA

I watch ARFL now just to see that funny fight scene between Adam and Joe and then Hoss stepping in. It's hilarious now to watch back on it! :rotfl That fight scene was something, right? So out of character for Adam and Joe to deliberately pick a fight, and over some names they'd called each other's...

Re: Episode 1 - A ROSE FOR LOTTA

I recently got the official first season of Bonanza (fifty-year anniversary edition). If I were to start a list of everything that was wrong with this episode, it would never end. You had Ben threatening to kill any trespassers on his land, Adam wanting to string them from the highest tree, and all ...

Re-watched this episode for a second time last night, and only now noticed that for once, Ben actually told Hoss to take his foot off the table! :rotfl

Re: Episode 271 - SENSE OF DUTY

I watched this episode for the first time on YouTube (since I don't yet own it) and I thought it quite interesting. Seeing Ben in a cavalry officer's uniform was quite strange and amusing at the same time. I love how as Hoss is stepping down off the boardwalk and Ben tells him to join the others, he...

Re: Episode 255 - THE UNSEEN WOUND

Leslie Nielsen is awesome in this episode as the Civil War officer who can't seem to let go of the past. It always amazes me how an actor can so effortlessly go into a monologue, really believing that there are people around him. I've heard stories about how wartime can affect those who fought, and ...

Re: Episode 254 - BLACK FRIDAY

I watched this episode for the first time on Saturday night, and I must say, it was an incredible performance. John Saxon was a handsome guest, and I always like to see Ford Rainey in any role. He was so good at the characters he played. Joe's attitude and loyalty towards his friend is natural, even...

Re: Episode 260 - JOE CARTWRIGHT, DETECTIVE

I re-watched this episode last night, and listened to the commentary by Andy Klyde. He spoke of later on when Mitch Vogel joined the cast, saying that the dining room scenes hardly ever passed without escalating into a food fight between Dan and Michael. Peas were in their noses, mashed potatoes in ...

I liked the one from Maverick, and Rawhide comes in second only to Bonanza.

Re: Episode 85 - THE STORM

I watched this episode again the other night. Not particularly one of my favorites, but it was all right. I think my favorite part is when Ben finds Joe at the cabin and gives him the same advice that Captain Stoddard had given him when Elizabeth had passed.
